若無大學文憑或同等的工作經驗，又或者H-1B 的配額不夠時，O-1 可以是另一個可以提供參考的選擇.

O-1 包括的領域有:

商業

運動員

電視制作

動畫 

申請 O-1簽証必需有工作: 雇主或至少有仲介代理人，且必需在你的領域裡，具備領導、享有盛名、或傑出卓越的能力，証明的文件可出示譬如曾經得過的獎項等. 

O Visa 可以一次最多簽三年，之後每次可以已一年期來延長.
